The British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy's
definition of counselling:
The skilled use of the
relationship (between the counsellor and patient) to help the
patient develop self-knowledge, self-esteem and the ability to
take control of his or her own life.
In counselling
people come to work through their concerns with such things as
depression, relationship problems, and feelings arising from a
crisis. As a relational integrative therapist I am concerned
with being non-judgemental, open and offering an understanding
relationship. Together we will explore your experiences and
feelings, concentrating on what you consider most important.
Integrative therapy focuses on whatever you bring now, in the
present, while acknowledging that you may, or may not, wish to
explore the past. It emphasizes free will and the ability to
make choices. Integrative therapy also makes use of Mindfulness
CBT which allows you to become more aware and in control of your
thoughts and feelings. Integrative therapy is also a good place
to explore life changes and professional and career problems.

is safe, supportive and confidential. I adapt my style of
working to the needs of each individual. I am a member of the
